★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 25

Hi

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 24

Hi

Well it is Easter Sunday and what a day it has been
Jalan comes in early to wake us up and let us know it is Easter
Oh boy the Easter Bunny hadn't been yet and she was a bit disappointed but figured it gave her more time to do craft  Truth was mummy was so exhausted last night that she didnt set it up after Jalan had gone to bed

Luckily enough we are looking after the neighbours chooks so Darren and Jalan head over to feed the chooks and Megan and I rush around the house putting out little eggs everywhere and her easter presents out and pouring baby powder on the floor and trying to make bunny prints  This we found is a bit harder than it looks

Jalan comes back and the look on her face was priceless She started following footsteps and asking questions and picking up easter eggs  She was so excited

After she had collected all her eggs and presents we did more craft and put the Roast pork on for lunch as Nana and Pa were coming over

We finished the decorations just in time for them to get here
As we are teaching Jalan both sides of the story we have been doing craft from the bible as well   When i put the cross in its pot i asked Jalan who was crucified on the cross  Her reply  "The Easter Bunny"   Ok i think we have had enough learning for one Easter  She got confused about it all

We had a lovely lunch and a yummy dessert made by Rowan then Nana and Pa went home to get ready for their next stop at Pa's sons place for dinner

Cleaned up with the kids digging into the easter chocolate and rabbits

4:30 the phone rang and it was a friend seeing if they could bring their son over for a play date for a while and some sanity for them   I said yep come on over and then went to drop Megan of for her shift at work  Did a bit of shopping and scored some fantastic bargains for morning tea for the next few weeks with Jam donuts and lamingtons (no not for me) we put them in the freezer in separate bags and then one can be taken out and defrosted at a time so that no one just eats them for the sake of eating

Talked my friends into staying for dinner and we had a lovely meal of chicken and salad and some fantastic company

Finally time to relax so i turn my computer on and todays task is

Organize Your Bedside Area

Oh the cruelty of it all  as my bedside area is totally trashed at the moment and i am totally exhausted but i have the one advantage tonight  We are in Australia and get our tasks at night  so this one I am leaving til morning so that I can not only complete the five minutes but actually clean my whole room and air it all out and make it actually look like a bedroom again rather than a junk room

The room itself is not bad but with doing a lot of craft over the last week or so it has been severely neglected and when looking for stuff i need I have just trashed everything and havent put my clothes out to be washed My magazine holder was needed for a pattern for a craft we are tackling soon so the magazines got dumped onto the floor and other bits and pieces have migrated there as well

So until morning it is staying messy/trashed and i am going to say good night  but at least i am once again caught up apart from adding the pictures to my blogs

Night all

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 23

Hi

Easter Saturday

Darrens mum comes out early and hands us the new spark plug leads and when we asked how much she said "Easter present Happy Easter"

The MOTH heads out to change the spark plugs and the leads  I head out after  i have done a few things in the house and caught up on some facebook games and sit in the back of the car to watch
While sitting there i realise just how much crap and junk and Jalans clothes are in the car and start cleaning out the back seat of the car   Take Jalans storage bag down to bring inside and wash and fix up the side that has ripped

Get a bag of rubbish out of the car which makes me feel better and find a few items of Jalans that have been missing including 3 jumpers 2 pairs track suit pants 4 t shirts and 2 pairs of shoes 4 hats and a lot of half eaten unidentifiable bits of food  Realise that at some stage the mouse has chewed up paper behind Jalans seat   Is it any wonder it lives in the car with her left overs It has a veritable feast there

I worry it may tell its friends and then we will really be in trouble
Tidy up the rest of the stuff that lives in the car

Darren finishes the leads and puts the car back together again and starts it
It starts first go and Darren is so excited that it actually worked  I wish he had more confidence in himself with things like this

He then takes it for a quick drive but sadly it STILL has not fixed the problem of very rough idling and stalling while waiting at traffic lights and in traffic but at least the car is no longer shuddering and starts better now
Back to the drawing board to find out the next cause of our intermitant problem

We leave Jalan with Rowan and go out and do the last of the Easter shopping and other things we need to do  Such bliss without Jalan with us

Potter around til it is time to pick up Megan at 5pm  Darren goes and also retrieves Rowans laptop cable from his mates place  I stay home with Jalan and we make chocolates from the mould i have brought this morning

She has fun with me melting the chocolate then her spooning it in to the moulds We put it in the fridge to set then she eats the leftover chocolate out of the jug

I then head over to see what todays task is and find out i have won the prize for the week With my prize i won tonight the first one will become easier as well as i will have a manual telling me what to do

I feel so awesome it is fantastic i have actually won a prize

Thank you Michelle for choosing me

Then i head over to the task area and

Todays task is

Organize Your Goals

I sit and ponder this for a while then remember the mantra "Move fast. Don’t overthink. Let it go!"

This makes it easier and i just start writing/Typing the first things that come into my head

Here is what i came up with

This for me is one of the hardest tasks as there is so much i want to do and have always found it hard but these tasks each day have given me a push in the right direction

1. Get my house and life fully decluttered and organised
2. Lose weight
3. Become Healthier
4. Become a housewife rather than a slob
5. Do more Simple savings things to save money
6. Menu Plan
7. More Family Time
8. Fund Raise for CF
9. Raise awareness of CF
10. Get Stress out of my life

I put 3 here instead of one as together they will help me achieve what i want to They in a way go hand in hand as the more weight i lose the more active and more energy i will have and the more i will get motivated to do more than just sit on facebook lol

1. Get my house and life fully decluttered and organised
2. Lose weight
6. Menu Plan
Go for walks Use the treadmill and Air Walker each day
Clean and declutter house so that the exercise equipment fit easy
Declutter my life of people who bring me down
Menu plan so that i dont eat anything i am not supposed too
Clean out the Van and get rid of it ALL NOW
Clean out the shed so that it can be used for its proper purpose
Drop more stuff at Queenies to get rid of it
Get the computer/craft.home office totally organised and my sewing cabinet finished so that everything has its place and must be in its place

So now i just have to commit to my goals and make use of it all

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 22

Hi

Happy Good Friday

Well it is

Declutter Your Bag

Lately  i have taken to carrying my wallet instead of my handbag due to sore shoulders and back  It is so easy to slip my small wallet into my back pocket of my jeans or pedal pushers and just go unless we have to go to the chemist then i need my handbag    My handbag is also a backpack style so that i don't have to carry it on one shoulder

Usually it is so full of what we need that at the end of the day my back and shoulders are aching because of it

To declutter my handbag means taking everything out of it and then trying to decide what goes back into it  Then we go out and i find that something i need is no longer in my handbag as it has been put back where it actually belongs

My handbag has 4 sections  The main section is for my purse mobile and my day to day things

The second section is for prescriptions and as i have a child with Cystic Fibrosis i have a lot of prescriptions  Anything up to 20 at a time Then comes my prescriptions usually 6 at a time  Also in this section is anything to do with paperwork for CF

The third section is a much smaller section for misc stuff that i might need

The fourth section is for medical needs like Jalans creons  My ventolin puffer Jalans spare ventolin puffer painkillers band aids and a few other things

Using my wallet in my jeans has pretty much taught me that i dont need as much as i carry in my handbag but that is only when we are close to home and not down in Brisbane at the hospital

But in my 5 minutes i took the opportunity to take out all the old receipts and dockets and auto teller slips  That in itself took nearly a kilo of weight out of my handbag   One day i will file all these on a stake and eventually post them to someone else just so they see we do not need so much paper

Today is Good Friday and apart from not eating meat we really did not do much at all today we used it as a down day to watch a few movies and just literally chill

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 21

Hi

Today we had a easter party for Jalans at a friends place  Woohooo some one else to do craft with her again
We were even actually on time which is unusual for us lately

Arrived at Ronnies place to a hoard of kids all eager to play and party  Jalan decided to be shy and not talk to anyone and hid between mine and the MOTH's legs until we introduced her to another shy child and then she realised ohhhh lots of kids to play with

They then got called inside to make a chicken for their easter egg hunt
(add pic)
Add pic

They put their chicks on the verandah to dry and came in for a snack  and another play

They then did another craft making a box to take home their easter present for whoever they wanted to give it to  I was the lucky recipient of Jalans
(ins pic )
Another snack and drink time while waiting for their box to dry

Next craft was making easter eggs out of milk arrowroot biscuits while the Easter Bunny (Ronnie) went out the back to drop the eggs for the hunt

Then off to grab their cups and headed out to the back yard where the dog had conveniently eaten the easter bunny  (it was actually a football that the dog had ripped apart but it was fun scaring the kids and seeing their faces)
(ins pic)
They had a ball looking for the eggs and collecting them in their cups  It is amazing how they will just walk straight past what is in front of them

Then the mummies went on a hunt making sure they had gotten all the eggs so that when the dog was let back outside he would not find eggs and eat them

Headed back inside to box up their gifts and make it look pretty to take home
Had another snack then some people left and some stayed to play a little longer
Thank you Ronnie for a awesome morning

We then headed into town and had a counter meal at the Burke and Wills Hotel and then headed of to Picnic Point for afternoon tea and more easter fun and egg swapping with Darrens sister Megan and her 2 children  and nana and a Pa as Megan was taking her kids away for easter
The first year we stay home she goes away for easter

Headed home to do todays challenge of

Organize Your Pantry

How evil  could you get after a long tiring day  Did 5 minutes of this challenge and realised it was not a 5 minute job at all  It is another all day challenge lol

But it did inspire me to go out and get some more small wire storage things to actually start organising it properly

As you can see by the pics there is a lot of work to do but it will be a challenge in itself to get it how i want it

I have seen the pictures of how i want it and will not rest fully until it looks like it  Here is the pantry I want  and yes it is my exact pantry shape so it is fully achievable

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 20

Hi

Another craft day for Jalan in town
This time Darren stayed home  First we went to Ronnies place to pick up some candles i had brought of her for craft for Jalan We are planning on melting them down and making new candles

Came across the most awesome craft that looks fun and easy that we want to try
You cut or break the top of a egg of  Break the shell a bit around the top edge so it looks jagged
Take some white wax and pour it into the egg shell and let it partially set
Using a melon baller scoop out a section of wax
Take a skewer and stick it through the white wax in the middle then put a wick that has been dipped in wax in the hole you have made
Use yellow melted wax next and pour it into the hole you have made and let set

Use on the table as a decoration  It looks like a boiled egg cracked open
When lit it looks like a raw egg

(add pic)

Todays task was

Organize Your Fridge

Looked in the fridge and groaned, Luckily enough  a lot of this had been done previously when we were doing the communication centre  Well the bottom shelves anyway

Threw out anything that was dead or dying which included 2 half containers of sour cream, some dead furry growing things (i think at some stage they may have been carrots or cucumbers though not really sure)  3 containers of unknown origin and a couple of bits and pieces of dried dead unidentifiable food stuffs

(add pics)

Restacked everything that was in there nice and neat and thought this is a full day clean out for my fridge but at least i had started it

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 19

Hi

Well todays challenge was

Organize Your Outgoing Space

Interesting challenge -  What is my outgoing space

We dont have a specific outgoing space and we dont have any books or anything that needs to be returned

We dont have room to put a table at the door but what happens here is we have a spot for our keys in our room after a friend of my sons when visiting decided to move our keys and other stuff around causing a lot of ummm cursing and yelling

Anything that needs to be taken with us for the day is put on the table with Jalans rehydration drink as we know we have to take that with us no matter what

Usually we have very little stuff apart from wallets and mobiles that need to go with us and my mobile is always either attached to my jeans or pants by its lanyard or if i am actually taking a handbag with me to the handbag as i would forget my head if it was loose

Brought some drawer dividers and some more hooks today so that i can have each thing where it belongs  Finally brought a new cutlery tray for my drawer as well as i am tired of my cutlery sliding everywhere when the kids open the drawer   The last one was pretty gross and couldnt be cleaned easy

The new one has a non slip grip and is easily wiped down so now that is neat and organised too

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 18

Hi

Todays task was

Organize Your Storage Containers

Hmmm Well this was a fun one and is still ongoing

5 minutes is no where near enough for this challenge

With a cupboard looking like this

(add pic)

and this

(add pic )

and this

(add pic)

It could take a while

Due to my son going through a stage where he was going to move out I had done this recently and had it all nice and tidy and organised  Then at crunch time he decided he wasnt going to move into a place of his own but going to live at his Sperm donors house

Lately i have been pretty slack with this cupboard I do like to keep it neat and organised so i can find what i need and get very annoyed when the lids are missing of their containers  I am trying to mainly have Tupperware containers as they seem to keep my food the freshest over a long amount of time

I threw out all the el cheapo containers that i have collected that break as soon as you look at them There is still more in here than needs to be thrown out or recycled  so it really is a ongoing project at the moment

But here is the after 5 minute pic

(add pic)

And here is the final pic

(add pic)

Went to a focus group at Carers Qld today to help other parents with ASD teenagers and how the school deals with them and communication with the parents

While I was there Darren dropped Jalan of at Art Workz for a easter craft session  We picked up a deal online with Grab One Toowoomba    It is usually $20 a session for kids craft  but with the Grab One deal we got each session for $10 instead  They are 90 minute sessions where you can drop the kids and have some free time while someone else does the craft

She loved it and made a tin for collecting easter eggs

(ins pic)

Did some colouring in and had a easter hunt

Darren then picked her up and then me and then we went over and spent 2 hours with nana

All in all a good day

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 17

Hi and welcome back again

Today started with a lets do more craft day

So first Jalan painted the other side of her baskets for the grandparents

                                           Hard at work concentrating

Then we finished of our bucket/cups for the carrot tree in last nights blog  I uploaded the pics to it today
Then we printed and made a bunny mask

                                                      Jalan had to see it
                                           Then Daddy joined in
We made some bunny ears and did some face painting
Then we took a break from craft and made some marshmallow easter bunnies but they are in the fridge and we forgot to take pics while we were doing them

Jalan added all the ingredients to the big bowl and watched it mix until it turned all white and thick then we poured it into the easter bunny moulds and put it int he fridge to set

Rowan made a egg custard for dessert  while we were doing the bunnies

Then some people came and took away Jalans old bed and some old tyres we had under the house  Gosh I love freecycle   They were both very lovely and we had a good yak for over half and hour

Felt like rice for dinner so put the rice in the cooker and got out the left over spaghetti bog from last night and the left over chicken wings from the night before
Didnt want plain rice so got out some chicken strips and some veges and put them all in a saucepan with a french onion soup mix and a casserole base and threw them all in and boiled them away and used some of the liquid on my rice
Rowan had the spaghetti then some wings and rice
I just had rice with a bit of diced chicken

While it was all cooking i packed away the craft supplies and Rowan set the table

After dinner we had some egg custard and Rowan said its nice but we should have made a pie case or something for it

Surprise Surprise Jalan didn't like it
Then we all pitched in and cleaned up the table and the kitchen and now it is all nice and clean for tomorrow

Logged on and saw tonights task which is

Declutter The Kids’ Toys

This once again is a easy task for us at the moment as when we took Jalans bed out and put the bunks in her room we did a huge declutter then

All she has left now is easily manageable for her at 5 as it is all sorted into her favorite toys and categories  We are teaching her to take one thing or set out at a time play with it clean it up before you take something else out to play with

When she was told to clean her room up tonight after craft it was a easy 5 minutes job    Her top bunk is being used at the moment to display her Mater Miracle Puppies that she gets each time she goes into hospital and her Dora dolls

Teaching her to only take one book at a time is seeming to be a little bit more difficult

We took away a lot of toys that she either doesnt play with or were either not age appropriate or broken or missing parts   Her mini trampoline now fits nicely under her bed with her Dora sit and spin and her shoe box

We still have a bit more to do in her wardrobe but for now I am very happy with her room  Just have to teach her how to make the bed next.

As for the teenagers room well as long as the door is shut i no longer care or stress  apart from making him open his windows now and then to air the room out and vacuum it every now and then to keep some semblance of humanity for him

All in all a good day and quite a lot done but still have not made Jalans easter tree which is what we originally had planned 3 days ago

Found out today that our printer will print on the card stock i have here so am happy that i no longer have to glue the pic onto cardboard then cut it out for extra strength

Gidget is doing ok albeit a but sad and sorry for herself   She limps when she thinks some one is looking  The rest of the time she walks fine but does not like standing up for too long

We are keeping her inside and wrapped up most of the time  She is shaking a lot still and am not sure if it is still a bit of fright or she is cold

Well thats me for another day

See you soon

Luv Deb

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 16

Hi

Well tonight is a different day

Todays challenge is

Organize Your Underwear

Tonights was a good funny one actually  and a easy one as not long ago i went through my knicker drawer and tossed out all the old knickers that i didnt like for some reason or other  I am paranoid about underwear thanks to my mum telling me i should always have clean undies on in case of a accident

She said that if i have a accident all the ambulance men would look at my knickers and laugh and then it would be topic of conversation back at the station that night

After talking to a few ambulance drivers i now know this is not true as underwear is the last thing they have on their minds but i am still not taking any chances

My bra and sock drawer were also done and all the bras that didnt fit or i didnt like were either given to my daughter or sent of to bra heaven

I now have enough of each for a week in case the washing doesnt get done for some reason and that is it

After last nights challenge and clearing out a full bag of paperwork and rubbish out of the home office Darren started decluttering the home office fully     He started on it while i domestically started a few easter projects with Jalan getting ready for easter                                                                                                                                                                                                     First we started on making a carrot tree for the easter bunny  from a blog i had been reading on easter crafts   Ok so its something different  but really cool cheap easy and effective

You need those bumpy pipe cleaners in orange  Each pipe cleaner makes 4 carrots

Then you are supposed to use embroidery thread but seeing as i dont do embroidery i had to find something else   A few years ago after easter i brought a lot of packets of this shredded stuff at 7 cents a packet (like a real lot of packets)  so decided to use it and cut it into the required lengths for the stalk of the carrot   Tied on some green cotton to tie them to the tree and with a few knots twists and magic we had a carrot

Made 8 so far

See reduced to 7 cents a packet lol

By this time due to the intricate tying of knots and fine finger work Jalan was getting bored so gave her a egg carton to start the next project with

She is making the holders for our easter presents for the grandparents Cut the egg carton in half to give them a six pack of eggs each   She decided she wanted to paint the insides green and the outsides yellow   Somehow i think the outside should have been green and the inside yellow but it is her choice

She painted the inside of one and the outside of the other then we put them up to dry and started painting the plant pots for our easter trees

After decluttering the computer end of the home office

                                                             The other end

We stopped for lunch and then went to help the MOTH who was struggling terribly with the home office task he was doing

Needless to say the rest of the afternoon got taken up with decluttering in there  but  with 7 bags of paperwork taken out of the filing cabinet and everything reorganised into the correct folders we now have a nice neat filing cabinet that we can find everything in

The deadly 7   3 went to the bin and the other 4 after talking to a girlfriend today are going to be  buried in the back yard to turn it into compost

Jalan having fun on all the paperwork and rubbish we took out

Still curious as to why we kept so much paperwork in 2009 (like every single bill manual receipt letter envelope etc we ever had delivered by the postman)   2009 filled one shopping bag on its own   Dont tell the MOTH but he winges about me keeping rubbish and paperwork yet in one folder there was raffle tickets that he had brought in 1995   (My guess is he didnt win the raffle though)  Was interesting seeing all his outdated rubbish

So once again a 5 minute task has turned into a full days project but it is all complete and there is actually room in the filing cabinet now for the rest of this years paperwork as we get it    Looks totally awesome too

One good thing is we actually talk as well when we are doing stuff like this

Sad thing today is our dog was hit by a car and is feeling very sore and sorry for herself tonight   Hopefully she is ok she is limping and sleeping a lot but we cant find any breaks so only time will tell if she is ok or not    Gutless wonder that hit her didnt even let us know so my guess it is the same revolting neighbour across the road who hit her last time in front of Jalan and threatened us if he ever saw her on the road again he would deliberately run her over and kill her  all because he was gardening one day and she went across the road and barked at him....he came over here and had a go at us over it  We said it is a dog and ummm yes they bark

We try keep her in her own yard but she is like Houdini and as soon as we block any spot she gets out she finds another way

Well thats it for tonight

Luv Deb

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 15

Woohoooo we have hit the halfway mark
Yesssss
15 days down 15 to go

Todays task is

Declutter Your Home Office

Started on this one tonight and realised after 20 minutes and a full bag of rubbish
it is going to take a lot longer than just 5 minutes

Even after the 20 minutes there was no true dent but with this room at the moment I am not too stressed as it is a home office sewing room craft room storage room everything that doesnt go elsewhere room

When the MOTH finishes my Christmas present of a sewing centre built into a wardrobe then all my sewing equipment and materials will all be in one cupboard  All my craft supplies will be in its own cupboard    At the moment it is spread throughout the room wherever it will fit

The area where the file cabinet is will take about a day or two to sort through and refile everything that needs to be in the filing cabinet and throw the rest
Where the computer/laptop is for MOTH and Jalan is quite tidy otherwise Jalan plays with everything that is there

The small 5 draw organiser needs to be gone through and resorted as everything but what it says on its label is in there  The floor this week is nice and clean and uncluttered thanks to the MOTH cleaning up in there the other day to put the treadmill in there as the ds no longer wants it in his room

Just got to get motivation to get on it and use it now

So after 15 days my bathroom is still nice and tidy My kitchen utensil drawer looks good My main paperwork is sorted and i can nearly find all i need now at my fingertips  My fridge freezer is still looking neat and tidy too
My lounge because i have been sick is clean but the couch is hard to find and the washing from of the line is sitting on the chair beside me where the MOTH put it after bringing it in
3 days of me not being in the kitchen much has pretty much rendered it frightening but the dishes are in the dishwasher so thats a good thing and the dining table only has one thing that does not belong on it and is nice and clean

Heres hoping i feel good tomoro and stay puke free and can clean the kitchen and remove everything from the lounge that does not belong here I dont really care tonight as still not feeling the best

Ultrasound is being done on Tuesday to see if there is anything wrong that they can see as to why i am spending so much time throwing up

I'm off to play my games for the night then of to la la land for some much needed sleep

Arevoir

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 14

Hi

2 weeks down 2 weeks to go hmmm someone got that a bit wrong theres thirty days not 28 lol

Still sick and feeling like i wanted to die
Played a few games did very little else

Todays task was

Organize Your Paperwork

Once again a easy one as on the clear your message/communication centre day it was all done then
Now we can see where to put the paperwork as we get it it is staying much neater at the moment

As for organising the paperwork in the file cabinet well that is a month long job
but at least it is out of sight and looking neat from the outside

Hasta Manyana Baby

Luv Deb

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 13

Hey guess what

It's the one and only me again
Yep nearly caught up and back to speed

Todays mammoth 5 minute task was

Organize Your Pots, Pans and Cookware

Once again for us a easy one thank goodness as I once again had my head in a bucket sitting on the throne  Yep crook again for some reason
Doctors appointment made for Thursday
to see what is wrong

These items are all stored in one cupboard under the microwave so if they are not neat and tidy then they all fall out and i get cranky  so it was a simple task to just neaten them up and restack them the way i like

Who knew housework could be so easy

Just a short one tonight as I was too sick to care about much else

Luv Deb

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 12

Hiya

I'm back again yep lots of catching up to do tonight while i have a chance

Todays task is

Declutter Your Car’s Glove Box

What  a easy one tonight  One that i dont even really have to do as i do this on a regular basis due to having a couple of mice that believe they should live in our car glovebox and eat anything that is in there including paperwork

Every so often we set traps for them and they go away for a while but we have noticed they are back again

Whenever i am in the car i open the glovebox and take out everything that is not necessary in there and either file or dump it

As for the rest of the car well that is way over due and will hopefully be a project in the  next week before we go to hospital so that we can fit the never ending supply that we need in Brisbane for 2 weeks

I get to spend the week in Brisbane and then MOTH comes down to do the weekend while i have a break and a decent sleep unless i go insane in the meantime

Most of Tuesday has been spent catching up on what we didnt do Sunday and Monday and making all the phone calls that we had to do including to our bank who had decided to take double out for each bill They said it was a glitch in the system and all the times we used our Visa Debit card it held the money and then when the merchant did their banking it is supposed to send a code that lets them know the money has been paid  Well the code didnt work so it charged us double on each one  Due to the amount we thought we must have been charged $475 for Jalans happy meal rather than $4.75
Thankfully it was fixed up easier and we had money in our account again

Grrrr dumb banks

See ya tomoz

Luv Deb

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 11

Howdy once again and welcome back

Well at this stage of this day we are still in Brisbane
We have packed up our room at Ronald McDonald house and have checked out and headed over to the Mater Hospital for Jalans appointment at 8:30am with Jalan panicking the whole way saying we are going to be late and trying to get everyone she met to guess where we slept   Yep she loves Ronald Mcdonald House

When we get to clinic we let them know we are there and are taken to a room right at the back to wait for our doctors  As usual it is pretty bedlam lol

Jalan is taken of for lung function and we sit and wait while different specialists pop their heads in to see if she is there
the social worker drops in to catch up and see how we are travelling and has a chat  Then Jalan comes back along with the Occupational therapist and we have a chat about how she is going with physio and everything
Next a doctor we havent met before comes in and introduces himself and asks up a pile of questions then reads his notes and reiterates back to us what we have said to make sure he is clear on it all  We are quite impressed with this as half of them dont really listen then seem to make stuff up that we havent said

He then does a thorough check up of Jalan and says slight clubbing on her fingers  He then listens to her chest and hears some crackles so off we go to xray to see what is happening

After xray we go back to the room waving to Tina as she had just arrived with her girls for clinic
The dietician comes in and checks out how Jalan is going and gives her student a run down on Jalan as she is nicely pregnant so I dont think she will be in for much longer for a while

The physios come in and do a cough swab  Amazingly enough Jalan cooperates nicely for a change and we dont have to restrain her Wooohoooo

Doctor comes in and say that she will have to go in for a admission but it is not urgent and will organise it with our CF nurse

Ruth comes down and says we wont put her in today as there are already too many CFers and other patients in the hospital  They look at next week and realise that easter is in the middle of it so therefore Jalan will miss out on a lot of the extra treatments they like to do as they will only have skeleton staff and even though we are quite happy to do some of the physio while she is in they decide not to admit her til the following week which is probably better as she would miss out on the gym sessions and the OT sessions as well
She goes in on the 28th April  so will miss out on 2 weeks of school

Due to there being 2 confirmed cases of Swine Flu at her school on Friday the 8th April the doctors advise us not to send her to school for the rest of the term just to be safe

Her nurse comes back in and gives her her flu injection and being brave she just says ouch and then laughs at her brother

After clinic Jalan and Rowan head down to Starlight room while i finish up with the paperwork and stuff

Go down to starlight room and Darren stays with Jalan while I head up and visit another  CF mum and her daughter for a while It is good to catch up with them and to know that her daughter is being released on the Wednesday after 3 and a half weeks in hospital

While there i meet another CF mum and her daughter who i have spoken to on facebook but had never met before

They head out for coffee and i head of to get Darren and Jalan and we head to the car

As we get to the elevator i meet Tina and her daughter again so Darren and Jalan go to Macdonalds for lunch and Rowan and I join Tina and Jessika at Subway for lunch

We sit and have a good chat then it is time for her to go pick her other daughter Isabella up and Darren picks me and Rowan up and we head of home

Stop at my dads on the way home for a visit and a cuppa then head home to Toowoomba

After settling in i log on my computer and todays task is

Organize Your Shoes

Well due to the fact we had done part of the Organise your laundry this task was pretty easy as the shoes are in the laundry too so it all is becoming one huge task

Neaten up the shoes quickly and then settle down to relax and catch up on my facebook games

Head of to bed and drift of to dreamland

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 10

Hi

Todays task was

Organize Your Garage

This was a easy one for us as we dont have a garage   We only have a carport with the cars and trailer under it
It was the best one for today as we had headed down to Brisbane to stay at Ronald Mcdonald house as our daughter had Cystic Fibrosis clinic on Monday morning

We arranged to meet up with some friends at South Bank for dinner
We checked into Ronald Mcdonald House and let Jalan play on the playground for a hour  She made lots of new friends and we got to relax and talk to some of the other parents there for a while

Headed down to Southbank to meet our friends and had a lovely time with them
My friends daughter is due to have a baby in two weeks so it was good seeing her nice and rounded

After dinner we sat and had a Cold Rock Icecream  you know the ones where you need a bank loan to be able to afford to pay for them  Absolutely beautiful ice cream though

After that we had a walk then went back up to Ronald Mcdonald house and Jalan again got to play with her little friends for a while
I sat and talked to another parent that was there and got to meet the most beautiful young lady
She had downs syndrome and although i have seen and smiled at a lot of these children and adults i had never before sat down and had a conversation
This little one was so enthusiastic and so high on loving life  She told me all about her life and what everyone was doing
Admittedly there were times when i could not understand a word of what she was saying but thankfully neither could her dad so it wasn't just me
She has really enriched my life just by meeting her

Read my challenge for the day after i headed to our room and burst out laughing waking Darren up wondering why i was laughing
What a perfect challenge for a night when we are away

Thank you

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 9

Hi

Well todays task was

Organise your Laundry

This one was a bit harder as our laundry is also our entry way to the house so needless to say there is a lot more than just a laundry in here
It is the dump point for everything on the way in and out of the house

We did a quick tidy in there but this is one task that really needs a whole day not 5 minutes
Our laundry needs to be rearranged to make it more practical and useable
In saying this it is a easy room to use just more that it collects way too much stuff and we are forever trying to work out a better system for it

One of the other ladies doing this challenge posted a picture of her laundry and we fell in love with it and are going to redo our laundry the same way

The only difference will be is this will be at the other end of the laundry to hers
as our laundry does not have this corner where hers does Ours is on the same wall as the washing machine leading into the house

Love how open and organised everything is where as with ours it is all just a big mess lol

★ 30-Day Organize-athon | Day 8

Hi

Ok I have been a bit slack updating lately so in the next few days i will probably have a lot of blogs all on the same date but relating to the day they occurred on

The first week went really well with all the tasks picture taking and everything
Starting this week was a new story
The challenges were fine it was just me that wasnt organised enough

Day 8 started with a new challenge of
Organize Your Linen Closet

Well this was a bit of a moot point as we dont have a official linen closet
I was given a simple tip for the linen closet
Fold the sheet set up and put it into the corresponding pillow case and either place it in a underbed storage box along with all the other linen for that bed or in the wardrobe for that room This way whenever you need a sheet change it is all there right next to you and you dont have to go searching through the closet

Works fantastic especially if you have young children that wet the bed or are sick at night  You can whip out the new set of sheets change the bed and put the child back to bed with no fuss and minimum disturbance for everyone

If you have a guest bed then all the linen they need is right with the bed as well

Saves wasting space in your cupboards

As for the towels well they are all in the towel stand in the bathroom  We each have a colour and have 2-3 towels each which are all rolled after they are washed and put back where they belong  The top shelf is Darrens and mine The middle shelf is the kids and the third shelf is guest towels and the bottom shelf is bath and toilet mats

Jalan has not got a specific colour yet but hers is all the childrens patterns

I have 4 table cloths and 1 set of placemats that are in the hall cupboard  The cupboard itself is for games and other things

So all in all a pretty easy task
