Tomoro being Friday the 1st of April I have decided to start a new blog
The blog being because i am starting on a new endeavour for 30 days
Each day i have to do a 5 minute task then log in and let the people running the show know i have completed the task
Should i succeed on this task i am eligible for prizes and after all who doesn't love winning things
Starting on the 1st of April may for me be a big April fools joke but only time will tell
The task is to teach me how to clean and declutter in 5 minutes per day
Ok i can hear you laughing your head of at me but it is a goal for me and me alone
Yes i detest housework with a vengance as the more you do the more there seems to be
I have joined the blog http://www.facebook.com/organisedhousewife and am going to see if somehow her ideas can slowly rub of on me
I want to declutter and this seems a good way of going about it
I look around my lounge tonight before i start and think hmmm Cyclone Larry eat your heart out you got nothing on me
The dog is lying on the lounge with its head on the case for her clippers and the latest school newsletter
Beside her on the next cushion is the parcel bag Jalans latest set of clothes came in
On the third cushion is a empty cordial bottle a empty packet of mentos lollies my handbag a tin of Salmon and the competition entry form that might i add wont work online so i am going to have to post it (if it doesn't get lost in the mean time) last weeks newsletter a phone and other various bits of paperwork and a few bits and pieces of unknown paraphenalia
The coffee table lovely and neat on the shelf underneath all bar way too many magazines now (like three piles) The table itself has 2 sample packets of sunscreen a WII fit game (most use it gets is moving it from one place to the other) Jalans new Dora skeggings (a pair of leggins with a attached skirt over the top) My Simpsons medication tin a box of tissues a remote control holder with everything but the remote controls in it A tupperware container 1/4 full of white xmas that really isnt that white no more and 7 articles of paperwork
All that is supposed to be on it (in my dream uncluttered life) is the remote control holder and a box of tissues
Next i look over to the wine rack and suprisingly enough it is neat and tidy with is obligatory photos on it and the only thing that is on it that shouldn't be is the matchstick craft box as we have been bribing our daughter with matchsticks to try get her to do her physio and treatments When she has earned 100 matchsticks she gets to choose a activity like a visit to the park or a prize
If she forgoes the activity or outing and saves 1000 matches she gets to go to a theme park So far she has got one outing to the park and a lot of shouting and arguing which means she loses matches She can earn 10 matches per day for doing her 10 sets of PEP well and up to another 10 for good behaviour
Next is the stereo table which has a few things on it that shouldn't be there like odd socks and half the remote controls
The floor although it needs a sweep is not too bad today It only has a knitted yellow winter hood like mask some paperwork a book one of Jalans little chairs a draft stopper which actually belongs in the laundry a remote control a dora book bag and a foot stool(which actually belongs in here)
The DVD units aren't too bad today they are actually neat and only have about 5 things on them that are not supposed to be there
You see in this house i detest flat spots and if there is a clear flat spot for some reason everything that does not have a immeadiate home gets put there
The freezer being the worst culprit and as you lift the lid it all slides down the back and goes out of sight (until so much is missing or a strange smell eminates from behind it) Why would anyone actually remove said stuff BEFORE they lift the lid is beyond me
The dining table i wont even bother contemplating tonight as it is covered and surrounded by easter type craft projects We probably will not need the sheer amount of stuff that is on and around the table this year or for the next 10 years of easter but it needs all to be out there just in case. Cant actually keep going to the craft baskets or craft cupboard or craft boxes each time we need something else you know (ok the craft baskets the craft cupboard and the craft boxes do need a major sort and declutter soon as well) but that is a project for another day/week/year/decade/century
I pray our first 5 minute task is not to do with the dining room table or i will have failed before beginning my first day
Kitchen is waiting for me to finish wiping down the benches and doing the last minute tidy before bed
Oh forget to mention the corner between my chair my little coffee table and the wall Good thing it is pretty well hidden shhhhhhhhhhhh
As for the dust and other stuff well the bunnies really do need somewhere to live
Been given a good hint though and that is to make up a vinegar and water solution and wipe everything down at least once a week to once a fortnight and it helps repel those evil grinning little dust bunnies but for now they get to live in peace
Other immediate tasks in my lounge room is to replace the clips on the curtains that Jalan broke 2 weeks ago by believing she was like the dog and could sleep on the back of the couch Would have been fine had she not decided to use the curtains as a hand rail getting up
As for washing the windows and the window sills well they are hidden behind the curtains at least til the next sunny non cyclonic windy day
I sit now and wonder what the first task will be in the morning
Oh and i have a reasonbly good excuse for the state of my lounge and house
I have been in bed sick for 2 days with vomiting and other revolting bodily functions and previous to that i got food poisoning at a concert after eating a baked potato with ham pineapple and cheese and sour cream on it and was in bed for 3 days after that Had one really good day in between though
That and the fact the MOTH (otherwise known as the "House Bitch") seems to have gone partially on strike
He does the laundry and does a lot of the work with Jalan For a while he did a lot of the house cleaning while i was deciding whether i wanted to come back to the land of the living or not
Since i have returned he seems to be slowly but surely handing the house work back to me Dunno if i like this idea though as he is much better at it than i am or will ever be
I admit i am house dislexic until it becomes unbearable even for me
Although the clutter is starting to drive me insane
I can either follow someone who has a idea on how to do it or i can curl up in my happy corner once again
Well thats it for today so Goodbye March Bring on April to begin my new life and new me
